BLS MATCH REPORTS
Match One - BLS v Inter
Youth Boys
Sunday 17th October 1999
The opening match was always going to be
tough as it was the first time the team had played together but the BLS
responded admirably knocking in four goals to seal the victory. Inter managed to
take the lead with a stunning chip into the top corner but from then on the game
was mostly played in the opposition half with the BLS hitting the post on an
unbelievable amount of occasions. The team gelled well and apart from some awful
Bruce Grobbelaar esque goalkeeping managed to play some attractive football. Tim
Morris volleyed in the first, Andy Stott chipped in an 'obviously' intentional
second, Cameron Licciardi a hotly disputed third then Andy Stott finished with a
fourth from the penalty spot. Some amazing defending kept the Inter boys away
from the BLS goal resulting in only one more being conceeded. The BLS held
strong and well deserved the victory.
